Rational Reasoning

Rational reasoning in artificial intelligence focuses on developing systems capable of logical, consistent, and reliable inference, mirroring human-like cognitive abilities. Current research explores novel neural network architectures, such as sphere neural networks, and prompting techniques like maieutic prompting, to improve the accuracy and explainability of AI reasoning, particularly addressing issues like hallucination and inconsistency. This work is crucial for building trustworthy AI systems capable of complex problem-solving and decision-making in various applications, while also advancing our understanding of human cognition through computational modeling. The ultimate goal is to move beyond statistical pattern recognition towards truly rational and reliable AI.
