Real World Video Super Resolution

Real-world video super-resolution (VSR) aims to enhance the resolution of low-quality videos, addressing the complex and varied degradations found in real-world footage. Current research emphasizes developing robust models that mitigate artifact propagation, often employing diffusion models and attention mechanisms within recurrent or U-Net architectures, while also focusing on efficient processing for mobile devices. These advancements are significant for improving the quality of videos captured under challenging conditions and have implications for various applications, including mobile video streaming and egocentric video analysis. The development of new benchmark datasets is also a key area of focus, enabling more rigorous evaluation and comparison of different VSR approaches.
