Realistic Deformation
Realistic deformation research aims to accurately simulate and manipulate the shapes of objects undergoing significant changes in form, focusing on applications ranging from virtual character animation to medical image analysis. Current efforts concentrate on developing robust and efficient methods, often employing neural networks (including implicit neural representations and graph neural networks) to model complex deformations and handle various input representations (meshes, point clouds, implicit surfaces). These advancements are crucial for improving the realism and accuracy of simulations across diverse fields, impacting areas such as computer graphics, robotics, and medical imaging.
