Receding Horizon
Receding horizon control (RHC) is a control strategy that optimizes system trajectories over a finite, moving time window, repeatedly solving an optimization problem to adjust control actions based on updated information. Current research emphasizes enhancing RHC's safety and efficiency, particularly in complex, constrained environments, using techniques like Control Barrier Functions (CBFs) to guarantee safety and reinforcement learning to optimize parameter selection and improve performance. These advancements are significantly impacting fields like autonomous driving and robotics, enabling safer and more efficient operation of complex systems in dynamic and uncertain conditions.
