Relightable Avatar
Relightable avatars are realistic 3D digital representations of individuals that can be dynamically illuminated, enabling realistic rendering in various virtual environments. Current research focuses on developing efficient and accurate methods for creating these avatars from limited input data, such as single images or videos, using techniques like differentiable rendering and neural networks (including mesh-based, point-based, and implicit representations) to disentangle geometry, material properties, and lighting. This field is significant for its applications in entertainment, communication, and virtual/augmented reality, offering the potential for more immersive and personalized experiences.
