Reproducing Kernel Particle Method
The Reproducing Kernel Particle Method (RKPM) is a meshfree numerical method used to model complex physical phenomena, particularly those involving localized deformation or discontinuities. Current research focuses on enhancing RKPM's capabilities through integration with machine learning techniques, such as neural networks and support vector machines, to improve accuracy and efficiency in modeling challenging problems like brittle fracture and thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of materials. These advancements enable more accurate simulations of intricate microstructures and material responses in diverse applications, including geological disposal of nuclear waste and composite material design, by automating discretization and handling complex material interfaces.
