Residential Prosumers

Residential prosumers, households that both consume and generate energy (often from renewables), are a key focus in research aiming to optimize energy distribution and consumption within smart grids. Current research emphasizes developing efficient algorithms and models, such as those based on distributed stochastic optimization, reinforcement learning, and game theory (including hedonic games and Stackelberg games), to manage peer-to-peer energy trading and improve load forecasting accuracy using AI techniques like LSTM and Prophet. This research is significant because it addresses challenges related to grid integration of renewable energy, peak load management, and the creation of more efficient and equitable energy markets, ultimately impacting both energy system design and consumer behavior.
