Resilient Robot
Resilient robots are designed to withstand failures and adapt to unexpected circumstances, aiming for robust and reliable operation in complex or unpredictable environments. Current research focuses on developing decentralized control strategies, self-organizing modular designs (like granular robots), and learning-based approaches for autonomous adaptation and damage recovery, often incorporating probabilistic models or digital twins for improved team coordination and fault tolerance. This work is significant for advancing robotics in challenging applications, such as disaster response or space exploration, where human intervention is limited or impossible, and for improving the safety and reliability of robotic systems in general.
