Responsible Artificial Intelligence
Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) focuses on developing and deploying AI systems that are ethical, fair, and beneficial to society. Current research emphasizes creating practical frameworks and tools for assessing and mitigating risks associated with AI, including bias, lack of transparency, and unintended consequences, across various application domains and throughout the AI lifecycle. This involves integrating ethical considerations into the design process ("responsible AI by design"), standardizing licensing practices to control usage, and operationalizing fairness through human-in-the-loop approaches. The ultimate goal is to ensure AI systems are trustworthy and aligned with human values, impacting both the development of AI technologies and their societal impact.
