Retinal Feature
Retinal feature analysis focuses on extracting meaningful information from retinal images to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of eye diseases. Current research emphasizes developing robust and efficient algorithms, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and generative adversarial networks (GANs), for tasks such as image registration, segmentation (especially of blood vessels and the foveal avascular zone), and feature extraction (e.g., fractal dimension). These advancements aim to improve the accuracy and speed of retinal disease detection, potentially enabling earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment, while also addressing challenges posed by limited datasets and image quality variations.
