Reverberation Time

Reverberation time (RT60), a measure of how long sound persists in an environment, is crucial for various applications, including speech processing and virtual/augmented reality. Current research focuses on accurately estimating RT60 from single-channel recordings, often employing deep neural networks, including diffusion models and feedback delay networks, to address challenges like noise and dynamic acoustic conditions. These advancements improve the realism of virtual environments and enhance speech intelligibility in real-world scenarios by enabling more accurate modeling and dereverberation techniques.
