Robot Workspace

Robot workspace research focuses on optimizing the shared environment where humans and robots collaborate, aiming to improve safety, efficiency, and inclusivity. Current efforts concentrate on developing algorithms for online scheduling of human-robot tasks, optimizing workspace arrangement (including virtual obstacles via augmented reality) to improve human motion prediction, and creating efficient representations of complex workspaces using hierarchical models like signed distance fields. These advancements are crucial for enabling effective human-robot teamwork in diverse settings, from industrial assembly lines to assistive technologies for people with disabilities, ultimately enhancing productivity and accessibility.
