Robotic Blimp

Robotic blimps, lighter-than-air vehicles, are being developed for applications requiring long endurance and safe human-robot interaction, overcoming challenges posed by environmental disturbances. Current research focuses on improving autonomous navigation and control, employing techniques like deep reinforcement learning (often combined with traditional PID controllers) and advanced visual localization systems for indoor operation. These advancements aim to enhance blimp robustness and adaptability to various tasks and environments, impacting fields such as surveillance, delivery in challenging terrains, and indoor mapping.
