Robotic Limb
Robotic limbs are being developed to restore lost function and improve mobility for individuals with limb loss or neuromuscular impairments. Current research emphasizes advanced control strategies, including deep reinforcement learning and continual imitation learning, to create more intuitive and adaptable prostheses that mimic natural human movement across diverse terrains and tasks. This involves exploring novel actuator designs, such as soft and variable stiffness actuators, and leveraging data-driven approaches like process mining for improved goal recognition and feedback mechanisms. These advancements hold significant potential for improving the quality of life for amputees and individuals with disabilities, as well as for creating more versatile robotic systems for various applications.
