Robust Gait
Robust gait research focuses on enabling robots to walk reliably and efficiently across diverse terrains, mirroring the adaptability of animals. Current efforts leverage reinforcement learning, often incorporating visual perception and biologically-inspired central pattern generators (CPGs) or spring-based models to achieve robust locomotion in both simulated and real-world environments. This work is significant for advancing robotics, particularly in areas like search and rescue, and provides valuable insights into the biomechanics of animal locomotion.
