Rooftop Photovoltaic
Rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems are crucial for decarbonizing energy grids, but their widespread adoption necessitates efficient monitoring and maintenance. Current research focuses on improving the reliability of remote sensing techniques, primarily using deep learning models applied to overhead imagery, to accurately assess PV system performance and distribution at scale. Challenges include mitigating the impact of varying image acquisition conditions on model accuracy and developing robust anomaly detection methods using readily available data like PV generation time series. These advancements are vital for optimizing PV system operation, improving energy efficiency, and facilitating the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources.
