Safety Engineering
Safety engineering is evolving to address the increasing complexity and autonomy of systems, particularly those incorporating artificial intelligence. Current research focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs) and other machine learning techniques to automate tasks like hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety requirements engineering, often augmented by knowledge graphs built from incident reports and expert knowledge. This work aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of safety analysis, ultimately leading to safer systems across various domains, from autonomous vehicles to industrial processes.
