Current efforts leverage machine learning, particularly federated learning and various neural network architectures (including convolutional and spiking neural networks), to optimize resource allocation, enhance privacy, and accelerate model training for diverse applications like Earth observation and IoT. These advancements aim to reduce communication overhead, improve data processing speed, and enable more sophisticated data analysis in remote or challenging environments, impacting fields ranging from environmental monitoring to global connectivity.
