Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) is an imaging technique providing high-resolution cross-sectional images of biological tissues, primarily used in ophthalmology and cardiology. Current research focuses on improving image quality through deep learning-based reconstruction methods, such as UNet architectures and novel attention mechanisms, to address challenges like speckle noise and efficient data acquisition. These advancements enable automated quantification of features like hyperreflective foci in retinal diseases and improved segmentation of structures like the choroid, leading to more accurate diagnosis and potentially better treatment planning.
