Semantic Preservation
Semantic preservation focuses on modifying data (text, images, or other modalities) while minimizing the loss of original meaning. Current research emphasizes developing methods that achieve this through targeted edits, leveraging techniques like energy-based models for text and diffusion models for image manipulation, or by selectively removing less crucial elements such as adverbs. This is crucial for applications ranging from controlled text generation and data augmentation to privacy-preserving data distortion and bias mitigation in machine learning, improving the reliability and ethical implications of various AI systems.
