Semantic Retrieval
Semantic retrieval focuses on finding information relevant to a given query based on its meaning, rather than just keyword matches. Current research emphasizes improving the accuracy and efficiency of retrieval, particularly within large language models (LLMs), using techniques like frame semantics, contrastive pre-training, and multi-agent systems to enhance both retrieval and subsequent reasoning. This work is crucial for advancing question answering systems, improving cross-lingual information access, and enabling more effective knowledge discovery across diverse domains, including biomedicine and public administration.
