Shallow water research encompasses diverse applications, from subsurface imaging and bathymetry mapping to understanding complex physical processes within shallow water environments. Current efforts focus on developing and applying advanced machine learning models, including generative transformers, variational autoencoders, and various shallow and deep neural network architectures, to improve data analysis, prediction accuracy, and the extraction of meaningful insights from diverse data sources like remote sensing imagery and seismic data.
