Shout Intensity

Research on shout intensity focuses on accurately classifying and quantifying the intensity of shouted speech, moving beyond simple "shout/no shout" classifications to a more nuanced understanding of vocal effort. Current efforts utilize deep learning models, often employing spectral and cepstral features, to predict shout intensity from audio recordings, though achieving high accuracy remains a challenge. This work is crucial for applications like audio surveillance and security systems, enabling more effective emergency detection and response by differentiating between various types of shouts based on their intensity.
