Simultaneous Exploration
Simultaneous exploration aims to efficiently discover and map unknown environments while concurrently performing other tasks, such as object retrieval or multi-robot coordination. Current research focuses on developing algorithms that optimize exploration strategies, often employing techniques like frontier-based exploration, graph-based search (e.g., TSP variants), and multi-agent coordination methods, sometimes incorporating human-in-the-loop interaction. These advancements are improving the efficiency and robustness of autonomous systems in diverse applications, including search and rescue, environmental monitoring, and warehouse automation, by enabling faster and more comprehensive data acquisition in complex scenarios.
