Single Vector
Single vector hydrophone technology focuses on accurately estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of sound sources using a single sensor, overcoming limitations of traditional methods in noisy or multi-source environments. Current research emphasizes developing advanced signal processing techniques, such as sparse and parametric approaches and vector signal reconstruction, to improve DOA estimation accuracy and resolution, particularly at low signal-to-noise ratios. These advancements are significant for underwater acoustic applications, enabling more precise source localization in challenging conditions, with demonstrated effectiveness in real-world scenarios like locating marine mammals or identifying underwater sound sources.
