Small Bowel Path Tracking
Small bowel path tracking aims to automatically trace the convoluted path of the small intestine in medical images, primarily CT scans, a task complicated by its complex folds and self-contact. Current research focuses on developing robust algorithms, including graph-based methods incorporating cylindrical constraints and deep reinforcement learning approaches that can leverage varying levels of image annotation. Successful path tracking is crucial for improving the accuracy and efficiency of medical procedures and analyses, potentially leading to better diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions.
