Small Farmer
Research on smallholder farmers is increasingly focused on leveraging artificial intelligence to improve agricultural practices and access to information. Current efforts utilize machine learning models, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for disease detection in crops and large language models (LLMs) for providing personalized advice via chatbots, addressing challenges in timely information dissemination and expert consultation. This work aims to enhance crop yields, improve resource management, and ultimately increase the economic resilience and sustainability of small farms, impacting both agricultural productivity and the livelihoods of millions of farmers globally.
