Social Norm
Social norms, shared standards of acceptable behavior, are a focus of current research investigating how these norms emerge, evolve, and influence interactions, particularly within the context of artificial intelligence. Researchers are employing large language models (LLMs) and agent-based modeling to simulate social interactions, analyze textual data from various online communities, and develop computational models that can understand and even generate socially compliant behavior. This work is significant for advancing our understanding of social dynamics and for developing more socially aware and responsible AI systems, with applications ranging from improving human-robot interaction to mitigating online conflict and bias.
