Soft Prefix
Soft prefixes are learnable parameter vectors prepended to input text in large language models (LLMs), enabling efficient adaptation to specific tasks or contexts without extensive retraining. Current research focuses on developing methods to generate and utilize these prefixes effectively, including techniques like dynamic prefix tuning, counterfactual contrastive learning, and gisting-based hypernetworks, often within the context of improving efficiency and mitigating issues like toxicity or ambiguity in response generation. This approach offers a promising avenue for enhancing LLM performance across diverse applications, particularly in scenarios with limited data or computational resources, by allowing for flexible and efficient model adaptation.
