Sound Field Reproduction
Sound field reproduction aims to recreate a desired acoustic environment using multiple loudspeakers, focusing on accurately reproducing the pressure and, increasingly, the acoustic velocity vectors within a target area. Recent research emphasizes advanced algorithms like weighted pressure and mode matching, often incorporating kernel interpolation or infinite-dimensional harmonic analysis to improve accuracy and robustness, particularly in handling complex geometries and limited microphone arrays. These improvements are significant for applications ranging from immersive audio experiences to more realistic acoustic simulations in various fields, including architectural acoustics and virtual reality.
