Sound Synthesizer
Sound synthesizers are electronic instruments that generate sounds by manipulating parameters of a mathematical model, aiming to create realistic or novel audio. Current research focuses on improving synthesizer control and sound quality through machine learning, employing architectures like transformers, autoencoders, diffusion models, and generative adversarial networks to learn mappings between audio, parameters, and high-level descriptions (e.g., text). These advancements enable more intuitive sound design, improved music transcription, and the creation of large, high-quality synthetic datasets for training other AI models, impacting both music production and scientific research in audio processing and machine learning.
