Speckle Pattern
Speckle patterns, arising from coherent wave interference in various imaging modalities (e.g., ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, synthetic aperture radar), present both challenges and opportunities. Current research focuses on developing advanced algorithms, including deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks and diffusion probabilistic models, to effectively remove or analyze speckle noise for improved image quality and feature extraction. This work is crucial for enhancing the accuracy and reliability of medical diagnoses, remote sensing applications, and material characterization, as speckle often obscures important details within images. The development of robust and efficient speckle processing techniques is thus driving significant advancements across multiple scientific disciplines.
