Speech Production
Speech production research aims to understand the complex interplay of neurological, physiological, and acoustic processes involved in generating spoken language. Current investigations focus on leveraging machine learning, particularly deep learning models like transformers and convolutional neural networks, to analyze speech signals, predict articulatory movements from brain activity or acoustic input, and detect speech pathologies. These advancements have significant implications for clinical diagnosis of neurological disorders, development of more natural-sounding speech synthesis, and improved human-computer interaction, particularly for multilingual and impaired speakers.
