Spoken Narrative
Spoken narrative research focuses on understanding how stories are told, perceived, and used across various contexts, aiming to computationally model and analyze their structure, content, and impact. Current research employs diverse approaches, including natural language processing techniques like BERT and LLMs (e.g., GPT-4), along with machine learning models for tasks such as narrative segmentation, emotion detection, and analogical reasoning. This work has implications for diverse fields, from improving mental health assessments through social media analysis to enhancing AI-driven storytelling and understanding the spread of misinformation in multilingual settings.
