Suction Cup
Suction cups are increasingly important grippers in robotics, particularly for pick-and-place tasks and bin-picking applications, aiming to improve speed, reliability, and adaptability in handling diverse objects. Current research focuses on enhancing grasp strength and reliability through multi-suction-cup grippers, often employing optimization algorithms and machine learning models (e.g., neural networks) to predict optimal grasp poses and plan trajectories that avoid failures. This work is significant for advancing automation in various industries, including manufacturing and warehousing, by enabling robots to more effectively handle a wider range of objects in complex and dynamic environments.
