Summary Judgment
Summary judgment, a legal process for swiftly resolving cases lacking genuine disputes of material fact, is increasingly being analyzed using computational methods to improve efficiency and understanding. Current research focuses on developing and applying large language models (LLMs) to classify and summarize court judgments related to summary judgments, creating new taxonomies and datasets across multiple jurisdictions, and evaluating the potential for bias in these AI-generated summaries. This work aims to enhance legal research, improve access to legal information, and ultimately contribute to a more efficient and equitable justice system.
