Syntactically Diverse Prompt

Syntactically diverse prompting investigates how variations in prompt phrasing affect the performance and biases of large language models (LLMs). Current research focuses on understanding the impact of prompt characteristics like formality, concreteness, and syntactic structure on LLM outputs, including hallucination rates and bias in generated text, often employing techniques like differentiable logic reasoning to enhance complex prompt interpretation. This work is crucial for improving the reliability and fairness of LLMs, as well as for developing more robust evaluation methodologies that avoid artifacts introduced by specific prompt structures. The findings inform the design of more effective prompting strategies and contribute to a deeper understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations.
