Tabla Music

Tabla music research focuses on computationally analyzing and generating this complex North Indian percussion style. Current efforts concentrate on automatically segmenting and labeling tabla solos into musically meaningful sections, identifying stylistic features (like *gharana* school), and using machine learning models like Bi-LSTMs and transformers to generate new tabla compositions from audio data. This work contributes to music information retrieval, enabling applications such as automated music analysis, summarization, and potentially even the creation of new tabla music.
