Task Oriented Communication
Task-oriented communication (TOC) focuses on transmitting only the information necessary to complete a specific task, minimizing latency and bandwidth consumption. Current research emphasizes efficient encoding and decoding methods, often employing deep learning architectures like encoder-decoder pairs and graph neural networks, alongside information bottleneck principles and reinforcement learning to optimize information selection and transmission. This approach holds significant promise for improving the efficiency and robustness of communication in various applications, including autonomous systems, multi-agent collaboration, and next-generation wireless networks.
