Tear Film

Tear film research focuses on understanding the structure and function of the tear film, particularly its lipid layer, to improve diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease and other ocular conditions. Current research employs computer vision techniques to analyze tear film dynamics, and machine learning algorithms, including those based on deep learning and contrastive learning, are being developed to analyze acoustic biomarkers in infant cries for early detection of neurological injuries. These advancements hold significant promise for improving the accuracy and accessibility of diagnostics, potentially leading to earlier interventions and better patient outcomes.
