The telecommunications domain is undergoing a transformation driven by the application of large language models (LLMs) and other machine learning techniques to address key challenges. Current research focuses on adapting LLMs to the specific terminology and complexities of telecom data, using techniques like retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and fine-tuning, often employing architectures such as XGBoost, LightGBM, and LSTMs for tasks like churn prediction and fraud detection. This work aims to improve efficiency and accuracy in areas like customer service, network optimization, and fraud prevention, ultimately leading to more effective and cost-efficient telecom operations.
