Textual Mention

Textual mention, the task of linking mentions of entities within text to their corresponding entries in a knowledge base, is a crucial area in natural language processing. Current research focuses on improving the efficiency and scalability of entity linking systems, particularly using neural network architectures like bi-encoders and transformers, and addressing challenges such as handling entities absent from the knowledge base (NIL entities) and efficiently processing large datasets.
