Texture Information
Texture information, a crucial visual attribute, is being intensely investigated to improve machine learning models' performance and robustness in image recognition and generation tasks. Current research focuses on developing large, diverse texture datasets, employing Vision Transformers (ViTs) and diffusion models for feature extraction and synthesis, and creating differentiable metrics for evaluating texture properties like tileability. These advancements are driving progress in diverse applications, including virtual try-on, 3D avatar creation, and scene stylization, by enabling more realistic and controllable texture generation and manipulation.
