Three Sphere Swimmer
Three-sphere swimmer research focuses on understanding the locomotion and chemotaxis of simplified robotic models mimicking micro-organism swimming. Current studies employ computational fluid dynamics simulations and reinforcement learning algorithms to investigate optimal swimming gaits and the challenges of navigating chemical gradients, particularly at varying Péclet numbers. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of biological locomotion strategies and informs the design of more efficient and maneuverable underwater robots for applications in marine exploration and environmental monitoring. The findings also highlight the complexities faced by biological organisms in chemotactic navigation.
