Time of Flight

Time-of-flight (ToF) technology measures the time it takes for light or sound to travel to a target and back, enabling distance and depth sensing. Current research focuses on improving ToF accuracy and resolution, particularly addressing challenges like multipath interference and noise through techniques such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), feature pyramid networks (FPNs), and novel fusion methods combining ToF data with RGB images. These advancements are driving significant improvements in applications ranging from robotics and autonomous vehicles to medical imaging and industrial monitoring, enhancing capabilities in 3D scene reconstruction, object detection, and precision measurement.
