Tissue Pathology
Tissue pathology, the microscopic examination of diseased tissue, aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency through computational methods. Current research heavily utilizes deep learning, particularly vision transformers and large multimodal models, to analyze whole slide images (WSIs) for tasks like segmentation, classification, and biomarker prediction, often incorporating self-supervised and weakly supervised learning techniques to address data limitations. These advancements hold significant promise for improving diagnostic accuracy, accelerating workflows, and enabling more precise personalized medicine by facilitating quantitative analysis of tissue samples and automating aspects of pathology reporting.
