Topology Optimisation
Topology optimization is a computational design method aiming to find the optimal material distribution within a given design space to maximize performance under specified constraints, such as minimizing weight while maintaining structural integrity. Current research focuses on improving efficiency and accuracy, particularly addressing challenges posed by high dimensionality and non-linearity through data-driven approaches like principal component analysis and deep learning models (e.g., YOLO and diffusion models) for both optimization and post-processing. These advancements are significantly impacting various fields, enabling the automated design of complex structures in engineering (e.g., soft robotics, pneumatic grippers) and facilitating efficient analysis of large-scale systems (e.g., network topology, tree reconstruction).
