Traffic Safety
Traffic safety research aims to understand and mitigate road accidents, a leading cause of death and economic burden globally. Current research focuses on leveraging advanced machine learning models, including deep learning architectures like convolutional and recurrent neural networks, and large language models, to analyze diverse data sources such as video footage, sensor data, and crash reports for improved accident prediction, severity assessment, and the identification of contributing factors. These advancements offer the potential for more effective traffic management strategies, improved infrastructure design, and ultimately, a reduction in road fatalities and injuries.
