Transit Timing Variation
Transit Timing Variation (TTV) analysis studies the subtle shifts in the timing of exoplanet transits, revealing information about planetary masses, orbital dynamics, and the presence of unseen companions. Current research focuses on developing advanced machine learning techniques, such as deep learning and convolutional neural networks, to overcome challenges in detecting planets with long orbital periods or significant TTVs, improving the accuracy of parameter estimation even with limited data. These improvements are crucial for obtaining a more complete and unbiased understanding of exoplanet systems, particularly for smaller planets whose detection is often hindered by TTVs, and for refining models of planetary formation and evolution.
