Transrectal Ultrasound

Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) is a crucial imaging modality used in diagnosing prostate and colorectal cancers, guiding biopsies, and assisting in surgical procedures like prostatectomy. Current research heavily focuses on developing and refining automated image analysis techniques using deep learning models, such as U-Net, ResNet, and transformer-based architectures, to improve the accuracy and efficiency of tasks like organ segmentation, cancer detection, and image registration. These advancements aim to enhance diagnostic capabilities, improve the precision of interventions, and ultimately lead to better patient outcomes. The integration of multi-modality data, such as combining B-mode and shear wave elastography images, further enhances diagnostic accuracy.
